The Psychotherapist's Corner with Dr. Jerry Gargiulo is a conversational show where listeners have the opportunity to benefit from Dr Jerry's thirty-eight years as a psychotherapist and marriage counselor. “I see the program", says Dr. Jerry, "as a service to the community. I am convinced that a psychology that focuses on what it means to be human, on the joy and pain that we experience with each other, and the conflicts we encounter in ourselves and those close to us, is worth exploring. My show is about relationships and emotions, about spouses as well as children." The show also features guests on the show that discuss the issues which shape our lives.

Biography

Gerald J. Gargiulo maintains a practice in Greenwich, Connecticut and Setauket, New York.

Dr. Gargiulo brings over thirty six years of clinical experience to his practice. He is a very popular speaker and has lectured at academic institutions, professional organizations and lay audiences in the U.S., England and Canada.

In addition to his writings and lectures on clinical issues, he has focused on the meaning of spirituality as it helps in understanding ourselves. His interests extend to philosophy and poetry as well. His approach to therapy is briefly outlined on the Practice Specifics page.

Dr. Gargiulo’s most recent publication is a memoir Broken Fathers / Broken Sons (Rodopi Press, 2008).

Other texts include Psyche, Self and Soul (Whurr/Wiley Press, 2004); he also co-edited and contributed to Soul on the Couch Analytic Press, 1997).

He has published over ninety articles, both academic and popular.

He is currently on the editorial boards of Psychoanalytic Psychology; he is also an associate editor of Contemporary Psychoanalytic Studies (Book Series/Rodopi Press).
